Media-con: convergence, convolution and control.

About Me

I am Chad Lawson, a Carleton University Honors Film Graduate (B.A.) with a concurrent Arts & Culture Diploma (Sonic Design program). I have also graduated from Algonquin College’s Systems Support program and work as a freelance IT/Media consultant.

The blog ‘s 4002 section is from a Carleton University Film course (Film 4002) taught by Joseph Lipsett. We engaged a weekly set of readings, a range of audio/visual content — such as a graphic novel, an audio book, blogs, television shows, cinema, web-media and more — dealing with Media Convergence and human interaction with technology.

I intend to continue the blog with infrequent posts – quaterly. Sign on using the e-mail notification box in the left side of the blog.

Years ago I was experimenting with multiple plot line interactive video for teaching and learning. At the time, I thought there was no stopping the cumulative force of video and interactivity. I’d forgotten about that dream, largely because it has taken so long for television to go digital. Your blog is a reminder of yet Future States of convergence and new frontiers in the social consciousness that will emerge from them. Thanks!

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal. I must say you have done a great job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Safari. Outstanding Blog!
